Family service

A family balance for hours, blocks, or credits. A buy-out number is not a charge, and it stays off for a publicly funded school.

Service is a family balance. Mom can teach and Dad can set up, and both count toward the same family. Pick one expectation:

  • Teach or assist 2 of 3 blocks
  • 16 hours per family per year halves for a family marked one guardian.
  • 2 teaching credits per year skips a family marked new.
  • 1 class period per registered class

Reminders stay off until you turn them on. With the term dates filled in, the people who manage the organization get one email at the midpoint and one email three weeks before the term ends. The note is a reminder. VolunteerBadge does not charge a family.

The Service list puts the family furthest behind the term first. Behind means they have done less than the share of the term that has passed. It is not a charge. The Behind button hides everyone else. Each bar shows how much of that family's expectation is done.

Hours count after a teammate approves them on the Service page. The button names that person. If no name is saved, it uses the account email. Until then, the hours are waiting and do not count. A class-period expectation uses the number of classes recorded for that family. Until a number is recorded, the balance says no classes are recorded yet. A buy-out figure is a number for your own books. Set the rate on the Service page, then read Family buy-out. VolunteerBadge does not collect the amount. A public school, a PTA, and any publicly funded organization never get that figure.

See Families to add the people the balance is about.
