Your background check is your report, and you have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You can always see it, and if anything on it is wrong, you can dispute it for free.
Get a copy of your report
Once a screening is complete, open your volunteer portal — next to the organization you'll see a “My report” button to download your own copy anytime, free. (Your copy is the consumer version; internal analyst notes appear only on the organization's copy.) You're also entitled to a free copy within 60 days of an adverse decision — just email support@screenforgelabs.com.
Dispute anything that looks wrong
If anything on your report is inaccurate or incomplete, file a dispute at screenforgelabs.com/disputes. Include:
- Your full legal name and date of birth, exactly as they appear on the report;
- The report or reference number, if you have it;
- The specific item(s) you believe are wrong, and why;
- Any supporting documents (for example, a certified court disposition or proof of identity).

“Records found” is not the same as “rejected”
