Church tools are extra safe-ministry features for congregations. They are free. A foundation, food bank, or other nonprofit never sees them.
When they turn on
- If you chose Church as your organization type during sign-up, the tools are on. No extra step.
- If your organization name looks like a church but you did not choose that type, the dashboard shows one line: We build extra tools for churches. Turn them on? Choose Turn on to enable them, or Not now to hide that line for good.
- Owners and admins can also switch them under Settings → Organization → Church tools.
When Church tools are on, Settings → Organization also records the denomination, parent body, campuses, typical attendance, insurer, and the congregation's waiting period in months. Setting a ministry to direct child contact uses that waiting period. Other ministries keep their own months.
Turning them off
Turning Church tools off hides those screens. Saving that change asks you to confirm first. It does not change background checks, volunteers, credits, or badges.
