Every check costs $5 — one credit. There are three ways a check happens:
- From a volunteer's profile. Open the volunteer and click “Run Background Check.” You'll see what's included and your remaining credits, then confirm with “Run check.”
- Direct check (no invite). Use “Run background check” to screen someone you already have written FCRA authorization from. Enter their details — including a middle name, or check “This person has no middle name” — set the misdemeanor/traffic options, confirm the disclosure attestation, and click “Run Check.”
- Volunteer pays their own fee. When enabled, the volunteer pays $5 at apply time and the check runs automatically — your organization spends no credit, and the results still stay with you.

A national, FCRA-compliant criminal search across county, state, and federal court records, plus sex-offender registries in all 50 states and federal watchlists (FBI Most Wanted, OFAC). Results usually arrive in minutes.
