Build your application templates
Build and send volunteer application templates.

An application template is the set of questions a volunteer answers when they apply. VolunteerBadge creates one for you based on your focus area, and you can tailor it — or build your own.

  1. In the left menu, open Applications to see your templates.
  2. Click “+ New Template” to start fresh, or “Duplicate” to copy an existing one.
  3. Click “Edit” (the pencil) to open the drag-and-drop builder.
  4. From the Field palette, drag a question type onto your form: Short Text, Long Text, Email, Phone, Date, Address, Address History, Dropdown, Checkboxes, Yes / No, File Upload, Section Header, or Divider.
  5. Click any field to rename it, mark it Required, or add options; drag the handle to reorder; use the copy or trash icons.
  6. Click “Live preview” to see what volunteers see, then “Save template.” (It also auto-saves every 30 seconds.)

Locked FCRA fields

A handful of fields carry a lock icon — Legal name, Middle name, Date of birth, SSN, Current address, 7-year Address History, the FCRA Disclosure & Authorization, and the Electronic signature. They're required for a compliant check, so you can reorder them but not edit or remove them. Everything else is yours to customize.
