- Go to volunteerbadge.com and choose “Create your free account.” You can also create your account in the VolunteerBadge mobile app. Enter your email and a password (at least 8 characters), or use “Continue with Google” or “Continue with LinkedIn.” Prefer no password? Request a magic-link sign-in instead.
- After confirming your email, set up your organization:
On the website, the onboarding wizard walks you through six quick steps:

In the mobile app, organization setup is a single screen after sign-in: enter your organization name, choose your organization type (nonprofit, church, or other), and pick your primary focus area — we use that to create your starter application template. Phone and address are optional. Logo, team invites, billing, and API access can be finished later in Settings.
Continue with Google or Continue with LinkedInsigns you in as that provider's email. If you created the organization with a work inbox (for example info@yournonprofit.org) and later tap Google or LinkedIn, you will not land in the dashboard — that social login is a different account. Invite the social email from Settings → Team, or add that provider to the work-email login under Settings → Security → Add Google sign-in or Add LinkedIn sign-in.
A login that is not on any organization, and is not already a volunteer, lands on a Welcomepage (“this login isn't connected to an organization”) — not the 6-step wizard. That page lists Create an organization first (the usual path if you started signup and need to finish), then sign in with a different email, then go to the volunteer portal. Known volunteers go to their volunteer portal instead.
The first time you reach the dashboard, a short guided tour highlights the key areas. You can replay it any time from Settings → Account.
Umbrella groups should not create each sport through the standard sign-up wizard. A network Owner adds member organizations from Dashboard → Network with Add member organization, or invites an existing organization to join. See Organization networks for how access and separate balances work.
