Getting started

Interviews and references

A notebook for structured interviews and reference replies. Nothing here scores a person or changes their status.

Interviews and references are a notebook. They are available when Church tools are on. VolunteerBadge records the words and the time. It does not score, rate, or rank anyone, and saving an interview does not approve or decline them.

Interview

Open the person's profile. The questions start from the highest-risk ministry assigned to them. You can pick a different ministry risk before you write the answers. Each save is a new record. Older records stay as they were. The profile shows the questions and the answers that were saved. The date on that record is in UTC.

References

Enter a name and email. That person gets a link on your VolunteerBadge site (the path is /ministry-reference/…, separate from automated character references) that expires in 14 days. The message says who is asking, that the person wants to serve, and that the answers go to your congregation. The form names the person the reference is about. They can decline without answering. A completed reference shows those answers on the profile. You can resend, and the resend count is shown. After 30 tries to send or decline, the link stops and a resend is required.

The first two completed references for a person are free. Each completed reference after that uses 1 credit, charged when you send the request. A decline does not use the free allowance. Sending asks you to confirm first. If that request needs a credit and the congregation has none, the form stays on the profile and nothing is emailed.
