Season waves list who would need a background check before VBS, fall kickoff, camp, Advent, or missions. The page is there when Church tools are on. The first time you open it, those five dates are added. Each one uses the next time that month and day comes around. You can rename a season or change its month and day. Days only go through the 28th, so the date exists every year. Turning a season off asks you to confirm. A turned-off season stays on the page and is left out of the preview and the monthly reminder until you turn it back on. Choose the ministries a season covers, or leave them all off to include every ministry.
The list is a preview. The button says how many people are in it, such as Review 1 person. When there is nothing to order or assign, it says Nothing to confirm. A person who needs both a check and a course counts once, and the confirmation lists those two actions apart. A check is ordered, and any missing safe-ministry course is assigned, only after you review the names and confirm. Each check uses 1 credit, and assigning a course emails that person. Someone who already has a check in progress is left off the order. A check that cannot be ordered yet, because the application is not signed, an SSN is missing, or a minor’s parent or guardian has not authorized the check, stays on the preview and is left out of the confirmation. A course that is already assigned and not finished is not assigned again. VolunteerBadge does not order these checks on its own.
The reminder marks start at 60 days, 30 days, and 7 days before the date. You can change those days on the season. Once a month, leaders get an email when a season is inside those marks. That email does not order a check or assign training.
