Share your badge
- Badge link + QR code: your portal gives you a shareable badge link and a QR code any organization can scan to verify you.
- Vanity link: claim a friendly link like volunteerbadge.com/v/your-name(first come, first served) so it's easy to remember and share.
- Personalize your public page:add a headshot, list the causes you care about, and record a short intro video — each is off until you switch on its “show on my public badge page” toggle, so nothing appears publicly until you choose.
Organizations only see your status — never your report

A self-funded screening also gives you a Screening Scope Certificate — a shareable PDF of every category, jurisdiction, and named data source, with a public verification page. That is the document you send an organization. Do not email your background-check report; VolunteerBadge will not send it on your behalf. Organizations that need a file without your date of birth, address, or ID images download their own privacy-safe brief summary from the check they ran — they should not ask you to forward your report.
Can an organization use my existing check instead of running their own?
No — and that isn't a paywall. Under the FCRA, each organization is the end user of its own consumer report and needs its own signed authorization and its own file, so a check run for one organization can't become another organization's record. Every organization runs its own $5 check.
What genuinely saves you time is the Inviteflow: when an organization views your public badge page they can invite you directly, and your application details and identity verification carry straight over — no re-applying from scratch. You'll get an email to authorize theircheck in one tap. Nobody needs your Verification ID to make that work, so if you're ever asked to hand it over so a prior check can be “imported” or “attached”, that isn't a real process — check with support@screenforgelabs.com first.
A badge is a trust signal, not a substitute for an organization's own screening — each organization still runs its own check with your authorization when you join them. But sharing your active badge shows you're ready to serve and can speed things up. The public verify page (/verify), shared badge page, and one-tap authorization page all follow the visitor's saved or device light/dark theme automatically.
