School tools are free screens for a co-op, a private school, a public school, a PTA, or an after-school program. They track adults. They do not store student records.
When they turn on
- During sign-up, an education or youth organization can answer Which describes you? A choice turns the tools on. None of these leaves them off.
- A name that looks like a school or co-op shows one line on the dashboard. Enable turns the tools on. Not a school hides that line. The name alone never turns them on.
- Owners and admins can switch them under Settings → Organization → School tools.
A congregation can use Church tools and School tools at the same time. A camp can use both as well. Turning School tools off hides the school screens and keeps the saved rows. It does not change background checks, volunteers, credits, or badges. It also leaves the report choice as it was.
Results start as Clear or Needs review, with no record text and no PDF. A co-op or private school can turn that off under Settings if an owner needs the full report. A PTA or a public school stays on Clear or Needs review. Turning the tools off and on again does not change that choice. An owner confirms a change to the full report. An admin cannot make that change.
A name scan at a front desk is not a background check. School tools do not present one as the other.
When a renewal note states a month count, School home offers a button that copies that count into the re-screen interval. Nothing changes until you click. A note about a free clearance does not change the interval. The button does not decide that the statute applies to you.
